Automate the admin that surrounds the numbers — so your time goes where it counts.

These are the bottlenecks we hear from accountancy practices every week.
Use Cases
Real workflows. Real time savings. All achievable in the first week.
Give Claude the numbers and key messages. It writes the narrative, commentary, and variance explanations in clear, professional language.
Year-end letters, tax summary letters, advisory correspondence — accurate first drafts from key facts in seconds.
From rough meeting notes to a structured client file note and follow-up email in one step.
Extract key figures, dates, and provisions from accounts, contracts, or financial statements quickly and accurately.
Need to explain a complex tax position or regulatory change to a non-technical client? Claude drafts clear, jargon-free explanations from your technical notes.

Claude isn't accounting software — it doesn't post entries or generate balance sheets. What Claude does brilliantly for UK accountants is the writing, analysis, and communication that sits around the numbers. Most ICAS and ICAEW-registered practices that train with us see immediate time savings on these tasks:
The structure is the same every time: you give Claude the figures (or paste in the working paper), describe the audience and tone, and Claude produces a draft you can edit in 90 seconds rather than write from scratch.
Bookkeeping itself happens in Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, or Sage — Claude doesn't replace those. But the work around bookkeeping (where most of a junior's time actually goes) is exactly what Claude handles well:
For most small practices, this saves a bookkeeper 5–10 hours a week — time better spent on client advisory work where margins are higher.
UK tax practitioners we've trained consistently identify three drains on practice time that Claude transforms:
Across these three task categories alone, mid-size practices report saving 12–18 hours per fee earner per week during peak seasons. See our full Claude training for accountants for the complete prompt library.
FAQ
Is it appropriate to put client financial data into Claude?
On the paid Cowork plan, Anthropic does not train on your conversations. For client financial data, most practices use anonymised references — removing client names and using reference codes where possible. Check your firm's data handling policy and review the DPA to ensure it aligns with your professional obligations.
Can Claude replace specialist accounting software?
No — Claude is a writing and analysis assistant, not an accounting system. It doesn't produce figures or perform calculations. What it does is handle the significant volume of writing, correspondence, and analysis that surrounds the numbers: commentary, client letters, summaries, and explanations.
How does Claudable's accountancy training work?
Our self-paced course covers the core use cases with prompts you can adapt for practice-specific workflows. Individual access is £149, team access (up to 5) is £349. Our implementation service builds practice-specific workflows from £2,000 and includes team training and prompt library development.
Are there professional body implications we should consider?
ICAEW, ACCA, and CIMA have published guidance on AI use in accountancy. The common position is that AI can assist with drafting and summarisation, but professional judgment and responsibility remain with the qualified practitioner. We recommend reviewing current guidance from your relevant body.
